| Looks like I'm about to rock south Texas once again. I'll be staying with Chris Franklin and his better half sometime during the first of August for another magical stint of cheap Mexican food, sleeping on the floor, car crashes, Bookworm Bitches, feeding ducks, and seeing things you can see from the Century Wheel. What's even better is that, after my stay, we'll be driving up to Dallas to see the Rentals. We're going to get a hotel room and go see Eels play on the next night. I'm sure we'll have to end up taking cabs everywhere, because I highly doubt either one of us will be sober enough to navigate through Dallas. It's gonna be ill. No kidding.
In other news: I work a lot. I hang out with Ryan and Jessica a lot. Ryan blacks out and we have water fights. Sam will never, ever shake his hand -- neither will Lindsey. This causes madness to ensue. Sometimes I leave my wallet at Chaser's house and drive around for days on end without a license or money, because thats just how we do. I've learned that errrbody plays the fool and that splitting rent on a three bedroom house between two people can be devastating, but Jezy's House of Pain will keep the wet dream alive.
Not much worth reporting, really. Keep your ear to the grindstone.

| I get a longer lunch break today since I'm working overtime all week. Today is pool day, and I'm kind of sad because it will be my last day to take the little ones swimming. I have grown surprisingly fond of most of the five-to-seven year olds, and I'm not ready to leave them just yet. Oh well, I suppose it's just one of those things.
My car is no longer sidelined. That's right; she finally has all four wheels and is ready to rebuild her self confidence and take on the roads once again. It's nice not having to borrow everyone else's car to get to work.
More to come, I'm sure.

| Yesterday was wonderful and long overdue. Jed, Chris, Micah, and I went down to Dallas for Mexican food at a place called Freebird's. My food was amazing -- and amazingly free, because I had met the waitress before at the Plea For Peace tour and she was nice enough to offer a free meal; and who am I to turn that down, really? After that, we went to a used CD store (whose name unfortunately escapes me at the moment) where I picked up the new Eel's album, Wilco's "Summerteeth," and the Centro-Matic/Vermont split, all for something like twenty dollars. To top off the evening, we stopped by the theater in Plano and saw George A. Romero's Land of the Dead, which I thought was great. Imagine The Grapes of Wrath meets Evil Dead. Two enthusiastic thumbs up, indeed. The best part of the day was the ride to and from Dallas, though. I don't think I have laughed that hard all summer. I thought I was going to die.
Other than that, nothing is really going on. I've got the house to myself all week while my parents are in Nevada, so that's pretty nice. It's a little lonely, but I like it. Anyhow, I do believe it's time to get back to work. Keep it real, friends.
